Glossary and old names
The words MaShop uses on screen, the ones it used before, and where the old ones still show up in the product.
Fix a problem
MaShop renamed several things, and the product has not caught up everywhere. This page holds both vocabularies.
Old names still visible

One word names two unrelated things in the input bar. Agent is a response mode, and Agent is also what runs an automation.
Words on the chat side
- Response mode. The selector that decides what the assistant may do with your message. It appears in the Code thread only.
- Ask. Answers without modifying anything. Six reading tools, refused at the server if the model asks for more.
- Plan. Same six tools plus writing a plan. Nothing is built.
- Build. The full catalogue of 29 tools, including writing, deleting and deploying.
- Agent. The same 29 tools, with an added instruction to keep going to a verifiable result.
- Auto. Not a model. A classifier reads your message, then picks: a question or a light touch goes to the small model, a multi file feature to the middle one, a whole build to the largest.
- Credit. One credit is 0.01 dollar. A turn is charged after the fact at the real provider cost, and the amount appears on the reply.
- Version. A snapshot of every file, created only by a generation that succeeds. Manual edits create none.
- Publish. The one time creation of your database, your repository and your two sites. Pro or Max only.
- Update. A rebuild of the live site from your GitHub repository. Free on every plan.
Words on the automations side
- Agent. A post: a job sheet, tools, an autonomy level, a cadence, a cost cap. Its function and its tools are chosen at creation and never after.
- Automation. A recurring order handed to an agent, with its own instructions. One agent can hold several.
- Run. One execution, triggered by a schedule or by hand.
- Version freeze. What leaves the queue carries the version of that moment. Editing during a run changes nothing for that run.
- Needs a look. A durable blockage. The automation is not queued again every morning until you act.
- Approval. A signature request filed by a tool set to Ask. Once signed, MaShop cannot undo it.
- Autonomy. Three levels: it prepares and you sign, it acts after one grouped green light, it acts on its own. The third is refused when a tool touches money, a sending or a publication.
- Memory. Rules your agents reread before working. Two scopes: business, and one agent. Two origins: written by you, and inferred by MaShop. Correcting an inferred rule turns it into one written by you.
- Skill. A house method your agents follow when the job matches. Only what you write exists.
- Connector. An outside account your agents reach.
- MCP server. A remote service connected by its https address, with its own tools.
- Tool permission. Off, Ask or Allow, set per tool. Reading defaults to Allow, everything else to Ask.
