Choose Ask, Plan, Build or Agent
Choose whether to discuss, plan, change files or delegate a sequence of changes.
Ask and Plan
Ask is for explanations, diagnosis and technical questions. The assistant can read the available project context but cannot modify it. Use it to understand a file, investigate a blank page or compare possible approaches.
Plan is for reviewing an approach before implementation. The assistant reads the project and presents a plan. It does not change project files. Review the proposed scope, decisions and checks, then switch to Build or Agent when you want implementation.
Build and Agent
Build creates or modifies the application in response to your request. Give it a clear target and check the resulting files and preview.
Agent lets the assistant carry a sequence of coding steps forward, including reading, editing and checking the result. It still works within your available credits, connected tools and permissions. This Code mode is different from the Agents area, where you configure operational agents and recurring tasks.
Select the mode before sending
If the assistant explains that a requested change is unavailable in a read-only mode, choose Build or Agent and send the instruction again. A promise in a chat message does not override the selected mode.
- Choose Ask for a question that should not change anything.
- Choose Plan when you need agreement on the approach.
- Choose Build for a defined implementation or correction.
- Choose Agent for a coding task that needs several steps and checks.
